The Benchmarks of Quality Content
July 14, 2009Quality content is difficult to quantify. Writing is subjective, and what may be a masterpiece to you may not be up to another person’s standards. However, there are generally accepted rules in professional writing that pretty much defines how quality content should be.
Original. Plagiarism is stealing, and that is plain and simple.
Short and concise. No beating around the bush. Say what you want to say and say it right away.
Persuasive. Most of us write to make other people believe in what we have to say. This is not only true about advertising and sales copy, but also for everything you put into words. A short story, for instance, is effective if your readers can relate and if you touch them with your story.
Effective. Write with a purpose and everything that comes out of your pen will be great. Tell a story, sell something, describe a technical process. The purpose not only organizes your thoughts, it makes for effective writing as well.
